I am a chef based in Cincinnati.
My passion for food started at an early age. Growing up as the child of two Mexican Immigrants that loved to cook (and cooked well) is how I developed my passion for food. Some of my most vivid and cherished memories are of having my dad’s caldo de res, a killer Mexican beef soup loaded with vegetables, bone marrow and chilies. If I had to choose a final meal it would be my mother’s refried beans with cheese and handmade tortillas. Honest and delicious food has always has been a major part of my life.
During my high school years in El Paso, Texas, I enrolled in a vocational program for the culinary arts and worked with my first chef. He opened my eyes to classic French cuisine and also gave me a glimpse as to what my future life as a cook could look like; the future looked tough, exciting, fulfilling and fun.
After graduating high school, I attended culinary school in San Francisco and was fortunate to have been mentored by many amazing chefs, including Ron Boyd (Aqua), Kim Alter (Aqua, Haven, Plum), Mark Dommen (One Market), Daniel Paterson, Michael Anthony and Miro Uskokovic (Gramercy Tavern).
I have been in the hospitality industry for over ten years, and have cooked at Michelin starred, farm-to-table restaurants in California and New York City. Throughout my journey, I have realized my passion for cooking seasonal, produce-driven meals and sharing them with warm, genuine hospitality.
I look forward to cooking with you.
